It’s okay to change your identity. It’s okay to discover new and different versions of yourself and it is okay to move forward and completely change your identities as they come and go and are. To be human is to be fluid, to change. You are not invalid for doing so.

I’ve never heard people use “bubble tea” :/ Do people use that?

~Tae

WHITE PEOPLE DO

and now I have poc using that bullshit

as far as I can tell by research, it’s coinage is credited to white people mispronouncing boba and not having the decency or respect to correct themselves

Wow…I’ve never heard of this. I feel lost :/

~Tae

I’ve seen stores in trendy areas selling Chinese or Korean or Ramen food marketing “bubble tea”. Like you can find all kinds of menu’s on grub hub in pittsburgh featuring it

What? Bubble tea isn’t actually called bubble tea? Because I’ve been to NYC Chinatown and Philly Chinatown and it def says bubble tea on the menu every time

wait but all over chinatown [im in ny] every store says bubble tea in the window??? some say boba on the flavors?? is that offensive???

Q: ok look the truth is i wanted to say this on anon ok? why does the world make me ashamed of my skin because i'm not of a lighter skin tone? i get ridiculed and mocked and treated more as a threat, target, animal, etc. pretty much this is my breaking point i'm tired of being told i'm not cute because i don't fit the media's criteria. it makes me feel worthless sometimes i wish i was a different race because i hate this. i admire the culture i respect those who fought for our rights but idk im just

is this in reference to something or are you just venting?

in any case, i’ll respond with this: the world is brainwashed and the mentality of the many cant be erased in a single life time, but you can start with yourself. just know who you are and what your about. try to remain positive (although that is difficult as shit) and exude light. black people have to live a life of “double consciousness”(look into it) weather they want to or not, and its worse when the people who are supposed to be on their side are running around yelling ignorant shit like “Team lightskin” because they dont realize the historical conditioning of slaves and all…but any way. long story short fuck em, be you do what makes you happy take pride in the positive aspects of the culture. learn from the downfalls. and yeah…#kanyeshrug
